Building veterinary workforce with global perspectives, including those with experience of working for international organisations such as OIE and engaging in international development or research projects, has been a long-standing challenge for Members. The OIE makes much efforts to raise awareness of veterinarians and veterinary students on the opportunities for engaging in the field of global health security and the key concepts such as One Health concept. Further, the OIE organises and participates in relevant events such as symposiums and internships, to enhance visibility of its activities among veterinarians and students of its Members.
Agreement between the OIE and IVSA (International Veterinary Students’ Association) was signed in May 2014, to collaborate on issues of interest, namely:
Under the framework, the OIE/IVSA invites each other to international meetings organised to address areas of common interest, and exchange our point of view on various issues of common interest.
Under the same framework, the IVSA appoints OIE Junior Ambassadors to act as intermediaries between the OIE and veterinary students across the world through the IVSA.
