ASF communication video – published

The African swine fever (ASF) virus continues to cause huge economic losses and impacts to swine production across Asia and the Pacific.

The ASF virus does not pose a hazard or risk to humans, but it is a highly contagious and deadly pig disease. There is no effective vaccine.

Communication among relevant stakeholders is one of the keys to control and eradicate this disease. To strengthen and raise awareness of the disease, the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) Regional Representation for Asia and the Pacific and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) through its Emergency Centre for Transboundary Animal Diseases (ECTAD) collaboratively created and published a communication video (short/long ver.) with financial support from the Japanese Government.

This video details what ASF is and how to avoid it and protect pigs.
