10th FAO/OIE Regional Steering Committee Meeting of GF-TADs for Asia and the Pacific

Bangkok, 10-12 July 2018 (TBC)

The Global Framework for the Progressive Control of Transboundary Animal Diseases (GF-TADs) is a joint FAO/OIE initiative that combines the strengths of both organisations in translating the GF-TADs objectives on the ground. The mechanism brings collective action to support the control and eradication of transboundary animal diseases and has yielded several important institutional and operational gains. The Regional Steering Committee (RSC) Meeting of GF-TADs for Asia and the Pacific has been organised 9 times since 2005. At the 8th RSC meeting in 2014, it was recommended to hold the RSC meetings every two years to allow sub-regional meetings to be held in between. Sub-regional meetings have been held over the past 12 months.

We are pleased to inform you that the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) are co-organising the 10th RSC Meeting of GF-TADs for Asia and the Pacific Region, where the outputs from these sub-regional meetings will be discussed as well as the way forward for GF-TADS in the Asia Pacific Region. The meeting will be held from 10 to 11 July 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand.
